On Democrat Politicians
Praising Representatives like Nancy Pelosi is a recent pattern of Democrats - they seem to reward their most incorrect and most ineffectual members. Those who claimed the war with Iraq would result in a "quagmire" have been rewarded for being courageous enough to speak out. None of the national media bothers to reflect on their inability to correctly assess a situation! Unless you consider the three days the military was stopped by a sand storm a "quagmire."Of course the praising and promotion of the most liberal Democrats is GREAT news to those of us who favor a smaller federal government!
As a group, Democrats are pessimists. They don't just see a glass of water as half empty; they see a full glass of water as potentially containing poison. They don't see a well educated child, they see a child as having been the recipient of advantages to the detriment of others.
I have heard, and tended to agree with the old adage that says Republicans are realists while Democrats are idealists. I am not so sure anymore. Time and time again I see conservatives looking for the best in people, having high expectations, and expecting good. While the only ideal you can get from most Democrats is doom and gloom. If your ideal is Armageddon - Democrats are idealists.
