I think we
need to retrench and rearm. Return our troops from abroad, and increase spending on
international intelligence. It has become obvious to me in the last few years that
the only physical threats to which the United States is subject are terrorist attacks. We
have much more to fear from a small suitcase of nuclear or biological material, than we do
from an ICBM launch from another county. I would like to continue research
on missile technology, but our short term focus, should be on
intelligence.
Note:
I wrote this originally in 2000 - the terrorist attacks of 9-11 have
certainly proven me to be correct. Bill Clinton's lack of a foreign policy
proved to be fatal.
