July
15, 2002 To
Whom It May Concern: This
is a letter of reference for Ray Holtorf.
I have had the honor to know Ray all my life and have had the
pleasure of working with him the last seven years.
Ray has always been dependable, honest, hardworking and enjoyable
to be around. With
Woodruff Construction, Ray’s title and primary duties have been that of
Director of Human Resources. He
has preformed these duties exemplarity.
Ray was responsible for advertising for help, interviewing, hiring,
orienting, reviews and discharging of our field work force and assisted in
these duties with management. During
the time that Ray was a part of the Woodruff management team we saw many
areas of improvement i.e. worker’s comp rate reduced by 20%, employee
retention increased, morale of the workforce improved.
Ray was instrumental in the implementation of our institute
training program that has been used as the model for state associations
for multi contractor training. One
of the most important functions Ray performed was his ability to act, as
“third party” for internal personal issues and all issues has been
resolved internally. In
addition to his human resource duties Ray has assisted in many computer
areas, helping streamline and troubleshoot many problems. Most recently Ray helped implement a new payroll system.
He help set up a state of the art tool control system.
He has very good knowledge of databases and we have utilized those
skills for both the human resource side and with marketing. Ray
has assisted in many marketing functions of the company.
This included both internal and external functions.
Ray developed and showed PowerPoint presentations at career fairs
at business after hours. Ray
set up our website and has been the webmaster. Ray’s
work at Woodruff Construction has been greatly appreciated and we wish him
the best of luck in his new endeavors. Sincerely,
Bill
